This woman is so difficult to look at much less consider relevant but she is running for the US Senate here in Nevada so she needs to be called out:
Nevada Democratic Congresswoman Shelley Berkley is launching a petition to pull the Rush Limbaugh show off the air after the conservative talk radio host’s comments about a Georgetown University law student.
A petition on the Shelley Berkley for Senate website calls Clear Channel Communications CEO Bob Pittman to stop giving Limbaugh “a national megaphone” for what she calls “hateful attacks against women.”
Limbaugh called student Sandra Fluke a slut last week because she urged lawmakers to consider the importance of contraception coverage. He has since apologized.
Berkley spokesman Eric Koch accused the congresswoman’s Nevada Senate race opponent, GOP Sen. Dean Heller, of being Limbaugh’s water boy.
A Heller spokesman said Wednesday that Heller thinks Limbaugh’s comments were offensive and have no place in public discourse.
So Shelley Berkley believes in the censorship of private citizens and the suppression of free speech, huh?
How totalitarian of her.
I guess I will have to look into the other cases where she started petitions to address the other misogynists in the media who have said the same or worse about women. Unfortunately a search of “Berkley / HBO /Maher / Palin / c-word” turns up nothing so far. Now to search for the “Berkley / Ingraham / Schultz / slut” petition…. So this is clearly an opportunistic political ploy by an DC insider who needs media exposure.
Yeah, Shelley’s running for office and trying to get noticed but does she have to be such an opponent of Constitutional freedoms no matter how offensive, stupid, or disagreeable they are? Oh wait, she’s a Dem so I guess the answer is yes, less freedom is better than more.
UPDATE: A reader just reported that a search of “Berkely / Olbermann / Malkin / Cupp / Meatbag” also returns no results of a petition effort on the part of the Vegas Dem.
