CBC claims Tea Party wants blacks ‘hanging on a tree’
Naked Emperor News – Dateline: America: Over the past few weeks, members of the Congressional Black Caucus (an organization that excludes people from joining based on skin color) held job fair town hall events across the country. Rep. Andre Carson (D-IN) told the attendees of his event that members of the Tea Party in congress would like to see “us hanging on a tree”. Carson is the congressman who started the myth that Tea Party protesters hurled racial slurs at he and Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) on the day of the ObamaCare vote.

It’s typical of this administration’s tin ear. Either the sitting president or a “first tier” administration member (usually the Veep or high ranking cabinet secretary) addresses the VFW convention.
Not this time…
I find it very revealing that the administration considers the UN Ambassador a “first tier” speaker. And the other speakers offered by Obama are minor functionaries, perhaps worthy of speaking at a Jaycee’s meeting or a Chamber of Commerce breakfast but not the national convention of combat veterans.
One more group needlessly insulted by this arrogant, tone deaf administration.

Some people believe, and I am among them, that the power of the media today constitutes the most significant exercise of unaccountable power in our society. It is unaccountable to anyone, except for those who exercise the power. I believe that the domain of culture is as important as the domain of government or the economy. – Jeane Kirkpatrick

President Obama raised eyebrows this weekend when he visited Comcast CEO Brian Roberts’ Martha’s Vineyard home on Sunday. Comcast, beyond being a telecommunications giant, is also the parent company of NBC and MSNBC.
It turns out that Comcast employees are also the most generous organizational donors to the Obama Victory Fund, a joint fundraising committee between the Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee.
Comcast employees have donated nearly $200,000 to the fund, according to an Open Secrets analysis. They top out a list that includes Goldman Sachs employees (No. 4), law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher, & Flom (No. 2), and Dreamworks (No. 8).
In addition, Obama has also spent some time with Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett on the phone during his vacation. Buffett’s employees similarly rank among the top 10 organizational donors to Obama, chipping in more than $100,000 so far, and landing in the No. 6 spot on the list.
Obama IS so much different than Bush! /sarcasm

There are no failures of talent, only failures of character. I think that’s often true too. Sure there a lot of talented people who don’t achieve artistic or worldly success, but I think there’s usually a reason – a failure inside them. The important thing is: if you fail once, or if your luck is bad this time, the dream is still there. A dream is only over if you give it up – or if it comes true. That is called irony. – Neil Peart

Because Team Obama is afraid, very afraid especially of someone who has been successful. Whereas their guy has been an unmitigated failure as president.
via The PJ Tattler: Top 10 Texas Democrats’ Complaints Against Rick Perry
On Wednesday, I received the same email from the Texas chapter of Organizing for America that the Dallas Morning News’ Todd Gillman received. In the email, the Obama team is trolling Texas for whiners to attack Gov. Perry….
Texans have been dealing with the results of Rick Perry as governor for more than a decade. So right, in fact, that I’ve decided to draft a Top 10 list of the Democrats’ complaints against him.
10. Rick Perry is governor. Seriously, Democrats here complain about that a lot.
9. Rick Perry lives in a house that Texas taxpayers pay for. So has every other Texas governor, but that’s beside the point. Also beside the point: That Democrats were having their convention nearby when the Texas governors mansion burned.
8. Under Rick Perry, Texas still does not have a state income tax.
7. Rick Perry believes in God. For some reason, the Democrats in Texas have a problem with that.
6. Under Rick Perry, Texans are proud of Texas. Of course, Texans have always been proud of Texas, and Democrats have complained about that for decades, while insulting Texans and then wondering why Texans won’t elect Democrats.
5. Rick Perry has good hair. Very good hair. At many points throughout the year, this is actually Democrats’ number one complaint against Rick Perry.
4. Under Rick Perry, it’s harder for liberal trial lawyers to come up with scams to make themselves rich, so they can keep pouring money into the Texas Democratic Party. Or pay to keep major Democrats’ love child scandals a secret.
3. Rick Perry has cost the Democrats the Jewish cowboy vote!
2. Under Rick Perry, Texans’ tax burden is just too darn low, the state’s housing market is too stable, and too many Fortune 500 companies keep moving here.
1. And the top complaint that Democrats have against Rick Perry is that as long as he has been governor, there have just been too darn many jobs in the state of Texas.

via Patterico’s Pontifications:
I mean since Obama has become president conservatives have often wondered: is he really this bad at his job, or is he some kind of evil genius trying to intentionally frak up this country?
Now, consider this syllogism.
1. An unpatriotic act is one that unjustifiably harms this country.
2. Obama has declared that adding $4 Trillion to the debt was an unpatriotic act.
3. As President, Obama has added $4 Trillion to the debt.
4. Therefore Obama is knowingly, intentionally, and unjustifiably engaging in conduct that harms this country.
Now, tell the truth liberals, is there anything at all unreasonable about that syllogism? No.
But there is a reason why that syllogism fails, because there is a hidden premise in it. Let’s call it step 2.5 and insert it back into my syllogism:
1. An unpatriotic act is one that unjustifiably harms this country.
2. Obama has declared that adding $4 Trillion to the debt was an unpatriotic act.
2.5 Obama actually means what he said.
3. As President, Obama has added $4 Trillion to the debt.
4. Therefore Obama is knowingly, intentionally, and unjustifiably engaging in conduct that harms this country.
And as far as I can see, that is the only logical defense to the charge that the President is knowingly and willfully harming this country: that he is a cheeseball politician willing to say one thing to be elected and to do another once he actually has power.
