Newly discovered planet may be first truly habitable exoplanet
A team of planet hunters led by astronomers at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and the Carnegie Institution of Washington has announced the discovery of an Earth-sized planet (three times the mass of Earth) orbiting a nearby star at a distance that places it squarely in the middle of the star’s “habitable zone,” where liquid water could exist on the planet’s surface. If confirmed, this would be the most Earth-like exoplanet yet discovered and the first strong case for a potentially habitable one.
To astronomers, a “potentially habitable” planet is one that could sustain life, not necessarily one that humans would consider a nice place to live.
Sounds perfect for sending our Liberal friends.
Oh wait, Liberals won’t go if they have to do all the building and the hard work necessary to create a successful society, they’re only good at tearing a successful one down.
But wait, maybe I just solved our illegal immigration and our on-going wussification problems here in America! Ship Liberals and Illegals to the new Earth.
Woo Hoo!

Nothing more than a hit song hall of fame:
The list of nominees for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2011 was just announced via the Rock Hall website and – as expected – Rush was not on the list. A whopping total of 15 nominees were chosen by the nominating committee this year including Alice Cooper, The Beastie Boys, Bon Jovi, Chic, Neil Diamond, Donovan, Dr. John, J. Geils Band, LL Cool J, Darlene Love, Laura Nyro, Donna Summer, Joe Tex, Tom Waits and Chuck Willis. It’s good to see such artists as Alice Cooper and Tom Waits finally get the nod, but I’m not so sure about the rest of the list. Par for the course I guess. For a great running history of Rush’s now 12-year-old annual snubbing by the Rock Hall, check out this page at the Power Windows site.
via Rush passed over for the Rock Hall in 2011
And because Eddie Trunk’s blog post was so good I felt it needed to be included here:
9/27/10: So our clueless friends at the nominating panel at the R&R Hall are at it again. That time of year for them to totally disrespect real rock acts from their private club instead of honoring what the real rock fans want. Yes my friends, these are the brilliant minds that FINALLY had Kiss on the ballot last year, only to put in ABBA over them! Nice. Seems like for this year Rush is still being ignored. Can you imagine?!? Its unreal. I thought after the doc and interest in it, they may have finally had a light go off and say “you know what? maybe Rush does belong in! Maybe they did make a mark!?!”. F*CKING IDIOTS! And now after 15 years they just realized MAYBE ALICE COOPER SHOULD FINALLY BE CONSIDERED?!?! Unbelievable! If you recall last season during TMS, with Alice sitting right next to me, I called them out for their blatant disrespect to this pioneer of theatrical rock. Gee, it only took you over a decade to consider him? And as we saw with Kiss last year, by no means is he a shoe in to go in. I mean why wouild he be when LL Cool J and Chic are out there? That makes so much more sense for the ROCK & ROLL Hall Of Fame right? Sorry folks, but my blood pressure boils every year as a rock fan because the mainstream doesn’t even know Kiss, Rush, Alice, Priest, Maiden, Journey, Foreigner, Yes, Dio and countless others continue to be disrespected. As was the case with Van Halen, even if Alice does finally get in, it is still so tainted how they treated him. Nice to see Bon Jovi on the ballot, and they clearly deserve it, but not before the many that came before them continue to be ignored. Good to see our friends at the Hall remain consistently cluless and disrespectful in their treatment of true legends love by millions.

Big Government – Astroturf? Thousands Given Free Bus Rides by Unions & NAACP to One Nation Rally
In response to the success of the Tea Party rallies in April 2009, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) accused the nascent movement of being “astroturf”–a political term of art for a faux movement funded by traditional powers to give a cause the appearance of independent grassroots support.
Pelosi repeated the “astroturf” slur in August 2009 as Tea Party activists showed up in large numbers at healthcare townhall meetings.
Five national tea party-related rallies have been held in our nation’s capitol in the past year and half. If there was evidence that thousands of tea party activists were getting free bus rides to these rallies, surely the media would have made certain the whole world knew about it.
Well, lemmings won’t go over the cliff if they aren’t led to the cliff’s edge.
On October 2nd, the NAACP and national labor unions will give tens of thousands of people free bus rides, free lunches, free T-shirts and free Metro farecards as inducements to attend the One Nation Working Together rally being organized by a coalition of radical leftist organizations at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.
It is to laugh.

Prosecutor alleges Department of Justice bias
A Justice Department prosecutor defied his superiors by testifying at a U.S. Civil Rights Commission hearing Friday, where he leveled an explosive allegation: top officials in the department gutted a voter intimidation case against a fringe African American militant group because the suspects were black and their alleged victims were white.
The prosecutor, Christopher Coates, also said the downgrading of the case against the New Black Panther Party was evidence of a Justice Department culture which discouraged “race neutral” enforcement of civil rights laws, frowned on prosecuting minority perpetrators and folded under pressure from black and Latino rights groups. After President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder took office, the culture intensified, Coates told the panel, ultimately leading to his departure as chief of the voting rights section early this year.
“They have not pursued the goal of equal protection of the law for all people,” he said.
Read the testimony and see just how our DOJ will only treat something as a civil rights issue if whites are not the victim.

“Of course I think it’s appropriate. He’s an American, right? He came before the committee. He has a point of view. He can bring attention to an important issue like immigration. I think it’s great.”

Harry Reid’s Thugs Interrupt Sharron Angle at Debate- Won’t Let Her Speak (Video)
Go figure it would Reid supporters who won’t let the candidate speak. At least the Democrat Party is consistent in how they treat others. It un-American if you ask me, but much of what the Dems represent I feel is un-American to begin with.
Oh, there was a fight evidently as well.
Way to go Nevada! Only thing we have going for us is the UNR football team right now.

Well, now, I’m glad I stopped using them a while ago:
THR: American services when they enter the Canadian market typically charge the locals more than they charge stateside. Why the discount for Canadians?Hastings: We want to provide an incredible value for Canadians, and it’s the lowest price we have anywhere in the world for unlimited screenings. And anyone can try it for free for a month. It’s pretty addictive.
THR: Are you concerned that American Netflix subscribers will look north and ask for the same discount Canadians get at $7.99?
Hastings: How much has it been your experience that Americans follow what happens in the world? It’s something we’ll monitor, but Americans are somewhat self-absorbed.
